North Central District Field Officer, Taten Knapp

Knapp joined MT DES in 2023 as a Plans and Assessments Coordinator assisting with MT DES’ EMAP accreditation process, continuity planning, and the Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (THIRA). He joined the MT DES Response team as a District Field Officer in 2025.

Knapp completed his bachelor’s degree in public health from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania where he had the opportunity to work at a barn providing equine-assisted therapy to veterans and individuals with disabilities. While working on his master’s degree from Penn State, he also held a position as a supervisor in a warehouse.
