FEMA Region 8, Version 6.0 Virtual Benefit-Cost Analysis (BCA) Training
The training will be held August 8th – 11th from 9:00 am MT – 1:00 pm MT (10 am CT-2 pm CT). Each day we will cover various components of the benefit cost analysis software to increase your knowledge and understanding of the software, and to support your mitigation grant application by providing the tools to verify the cost-effectiveness of your project. Benefit Cost Analysis (BCA) is a decision-making methodology which organizes all social and financial costs and benefits of a mitigation project in order to evaluate the cost‐effectiveness of options. A BCA is used to calculate and prioritize mitigation projects for grant funding by comparing the benefits of a project against its cost. FEMA has developed the BCA tool to standardize the compilation and evaluation of information needed to measure the cost effectiveness of a natural hazard mitigation project.
