The Montana Association of Counties (MACo) is holding their midwinter conference in Billings Feb. 28 – March 2. The final day of the conference has topics related to emergency management and is open to elected officials and emergency managers.
When: March 1st- 1pm-5pm: DES only sessions; March 2nd- 8am-5pm: DES and Commissioner sessions
Who should attend: All DES Coordinators are welcome. Register by visiting the DES Coordinators Registration Page found here. This registration link is only for DES Coordinators. All other attendees should register through MACo.
Where: Billings Hotel and Convention Center
What will be covered: The afternoon of March 1st will have a handful of topics with an open dialogue/discussion format. Topics are currently being narrowed by a planning team of local coordinators and DES state staff. March 2nd will feature a panel on emergency management roles and responsibilities, mitigation program updates, review of emergency/disaster declarations, and incident overviews.
Lodging: There is a block of rooms being held at government rate of $96 plus taxes for the night of March 1st under the block name “DES Coordinators.” Unreserved rooms will be released on Feb. 8th. Call 406-248-7151 to make your reservation. Lodging costs are the responsibility of the individual.
