FEMA’s Individuals Assistance Program provides financial and direct services to eligible recipients affected by a disaster, who have uninsured or under-insured necessary expenses and serious needs.

If you are a resident of Park, Carbon, or Stillwater counties and suffered property damage or loss from June’s severe storms and flooding, you may be eligible to apply with FEMA for disaster assistance with temporary housing expenses, basic home repairs, or other essential disaster-related needs that are not covered by insurance. "What to Expect After Applying for FEMA Disaster Assistance" press release is found here.

To find out more about FEMA's Individual Assistance program, please visit FEMA's Individual Assistance website as well as their "Apply for Assistance" section that provides some helpful steps.

Disaster Recovery Centers

FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) are accessible facilities and mobile offices set up after a disaster. We place DRCs in or near affected communities, in an area that offers equal access and resources to everyone.

GO TO FEMA's DISASTER RECOVERY CENTER WEBPAGE TO FIND A CENTER NEAR YOU

You may visit a DRC to:

  • Learn about disaster assistance programs.
  • Apply for disaster assistance.
  • Check the status of your FEMA application.
  • Help you understand FEMA notices or letters.
  • Find housing and rental assistance information.
  • Get referrals to agencies that offer other assistance.
  • Meet with a Small Business Administration (SBA) agent.

It is not necessary to go to a center to apply for assistance. If possible, before going to a Disaster Recovery Center you should apply for assistance with FEMA online or by calling. You can do so in several ways:

  • Visit DisasterAssistance.gov and click “Apply Online”
  • Call 800-621-3362. Multilingual operators are available. The toll-free numbers are open every day from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. MDT. If you use a relay service, such as video relay service (VRS), captioned phone, or others, give FEMA the number for that service.
  • Download the FEMA App for Smartphones or mobile devices For an accessible video on how to apply for FEMA assistance, go to youtube.com/watch?v=WZGpWI2RCNw.
